I do like these two poems a lot. These two poems force you to be involved in the poetry because the physical layout of the words. I like it. Some poetry is straight down the page, but this is all over, and you have to follow the words where they lay. It adds a sense of uniqueness to the works, in addition to the titles. “The Intentions of the Intentional”’s second stanza reads to me in the voice of a member of the Rat Pack, I can see in my head Sinatra or Dean Martin reading this poem. The 3rd stanza speaks of missing someone in a solemn, desolate voice, and then “Mark!” brings your attention back, forcing you out of a darker feeling, bringing you into the daylight. The second poem’s title confused me, but the poem itself stands firm on its own creativity. I liked how the poem had dialogue inside it of the speaker speaking, if that makes sense.
Recommendations: I think the way the physical layout remains the same from stanza to stanza in “The Intentions of the Intentional” works for the piece. I can’t say what can be done to make the piece more effective because I am still confused about it the way it is now.
